Donald R Layton, CPA
Don is the managing partner and founder of Layton Layton & Tobler LLP. Don graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and has worked for two national CPA firms as well as one in Las Vegas before starting his own firm. He has extensive experience in audits, business consulting, tax preparation, and accounting for businesses and non-profit organizations. In addition, he has represented individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations before the Internal Revenue Service.
Don is active in the CPA community. Early in his career, Don assisted the Nevada CPA Education Foundation in providing local professional education courses to CPAs from throughout the United States. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is currently a member of the AICPA Tax section. In addition, Don is an active member of the Nevada Society of CPAs and has served on several of its committees, including serving as chairman of the Nevada Society of CPAs' Management of an Accounting Practice (MAP) committee three different times.
Don is active in the Las Vegas community. He was a founding board member of several non-profit organizations in the Las Vegas area. He has served for a number of years as a board member for Specialized Alternatives for Families & Youth of Nevada (SAFY), a non-profit foster children support organization with offices in eight states. He presently serves as chairperson of this organization's audit committee as well as a finance committee board member. Over the years, he has served on boards of several other non-profit organizations. Additionally, Don is active in and has held numerous positions in his church.
